Spring/Summer 2008 PHRF-SD Newsletter

Class 4 Fleet Review:   The Handicap Board had elected to undertake a comprehensive review of the Class boats and custom boats that participate in San Diego area races.  Skippers of class and custom boats whose ratings receive a 1^st  reading vote for an area adjustment will be notified as necessary.  The first round of the class review discussions will occur May 12, 2008  at the monthly Board Meeting, at SWYC, 7PM.   This is an open meeting and current members are encouraged to participate by presenting FACTS that may relate to race results and/or observed performance.

A more direct link:   Tom Fota, our Roster Secretary has established a direct e-mail link to handle roster related requests.  This includes requests for duplicate renewal forms, Membership certificates, and it will make it easier to correct and update membership information.   In addition, reported modifications and configuration data changes to a yachts’ existing configuration will be forwarded to the fleet handicapper for review.      If you need assistance with Roster or SD Certificates please contact Tom at the following e-mail address.   phrf.roster@fota.net   This link will also be available from the PHRF San Diego Web site.   www.phrfsandiego.org   

The CRA/Silvergate YC Summer Beer Can Series…   As of May 11, 2008 there are 82 entries.  If you wish to enter, all the information is available at http://www.cortezracing.com/    The USCG has limited the number of racers, so please follow the event entry instructions precisely to avoid missing the entry cutoff.
